An American energy drink PRIME has sent the UK into a frenzy! Chaos breaks out in Aldi stores across the UK this morning. Parents and children were seen scrambling for Prime Hydration, a £1.99 energy drink made by two YouTubers.
Endorsed by social media sensations boxer KSI and Logan Paul, the Prime Hydration bottle has been selling for up to £20 online and was once listed on eBay for £50,000. When Aldi supermarkets announced that they would sell these products for as little as £1.99. Many British people went into a frenzy! People started to rush to buy this drink!
The drinks sold out within three minutes in some stores.
People are losing their minds – my kids are being pushed and shoved by adults just to have a drink. Long lines of people have been forming since 6 a.m. Video from inside the store shows adults wrestling with kids trying to get them.
Commenting on one of the videos, KSI denied that they had made too few drinks to increase the hype. He tweeted, “We weren’t even going to do that. We’re producing a lot of gold drinks every day, the demand is just too high.”
It is now also produced in the UK with the help of Refresco, which also produces Old Jamaica and Calypso. The drink is endorsed by these two YouTube bloggers. This company actually belongs to an American branding company. The company is run by American businessmen Trey Stegall and Max Clemons.
Aldi, the cheapest supermarket in the UK, has a rule that each customer can only buy one bottle of each flavor, but people still want to buy more.
A spokeswoman for the supermarket said, “Aldi has filled its shelves with this latest Netflix drink.”
“It’s a special drink – and like all special drinks, once they’re gone, they’re gone!”
“The supermarket expects demand to be high, so to ensure as many people as possible have a change to buy this energy dirnk, each customer is limited to purchase.”
“This drink contains 10% coconut water with electrolytes, B vitamins and BCAAs, no sugar, and about 20 calories per bottle.”
“Aldi customers can choose from three different flavors:Blue Raspberry, Lemon Lime and Ice Soda.”
